JGI Community Science Project awarded

ShadeLab is enthused to announce that our 2017 Community Science Project proposal was selected for award by the Department of Energy's Joint Genome Institute. The awarded project is titled "Greater than the sum of its parts? A synthetic microbial community approach to untangle member interactions and exometabolite production" and will provide RNAseq and exometabolomics support for the ShadeLab's synthetic community efforts. A thank you to ShadeLab graduate student John Chodkowski for spearheading the laboratory work and assisting with proposal preparation!
