Keelyn O'Brien is awarded ASM URF
ShadeLab undergraduate researcher Keelyn O'Brien has been awarded the prestigious American Society for Microbiology Undergraduate Research Fellowship to support her summer research! The URF provides a stipend and travel funds for Keelyn to attend next year's ASM Microbe meeting, the largest conference for microbiology in the world!
Keelyn is mentored by MMG grad student John Chodkowski, and we are so very proud of both of them! They will be working on a project to investigate the dynamics and mechanisms of an evolutionary arms race involving antibiotic production and resistance between environmental bacteria.
Congratulations, Keelyn and John!
