Taylor's latest publication!

We are pleased to announce the publication of ShadeLab MMG/Toxicology graduate student Taylor Dunivin's latest work. After presenting at the Environmental Dimensions of Antimicrobial Resistance (EDAR) meeting last August, Taylor submitted her study of the dynamics of antibiotic resistance genes in Centralia to the EDAR special issue of FEMS Microbiology Ecology. Taylor used a gene targeted assembly to determine changes in antibiotic resistance genes along a fire-impact gradient, and found that changes in the composition of the bacterial and archaeal community determined the diversity of the antibiotic resistance genes, suggesting a minimal influence of horizontal gene transfer in the propagation of antibiotic resistance genes in Centralia. Congratulations, Taylor!
